Chorizo taquitos

Tiny tortilla cones stuffed with chorizo sausage, these spicy taquitos are great as a starter or as nibbles with drinks.

Ingredients

1 x pack of 8 Old El Paso Soft Flour Tortilla Wraps
1 x jar of Old El Paso Original Thick ‘n’ Chunky Mild Salsa
1 x can of Old El Paso Refried Beans
300g chorizo, chopped into small chunks
6 x spring onions, finely chopped
Oil for frying

Instructions

1. Fry the chorizo in a large frying pan on a medium heat without any oil, until crisp. Drain off any oil with kitchen paper.

2. Put the Old El Paso Refried Beans into a large bowl and stir in the spring onions and chorizo.

3. Cut each Old El Paso Soft Flour Tortilla in half, then starting from the cut side, roll up to make a cone. Use a cocktail stick to hold each cone together, then use a teaspoon to spoon filling into each cone.

4. Heat a pan of oil then deep fry the stuffed cones in batches for 2-3 minutes until the tortillas start to turn crispy and golden.

Make it your way

Remove the cocktail sticks and serve your taquitos hot, straight from the pan, with Old El Paso Original Thick ‘n’ Chunky Mild Salsa for dipping.

Cook’s tips

If you can’t find chorizo, these work just as well with good quality pork sausages – add some chopped fresh chilli to the pan for that spicy taste!
