A fruity take on the classic margarita – fresh strawberries blended with tequila, orange liqueur and freshly squeezed limes.

10 minutes.Serves 1.

Ingredients

50ml tequila
25ml triple sec or orange liqueur
4-5 fresh strawberries, washed
1 x lime, juiced
Ice cubes or crushed ice
Granulated sugar for sugar rim
Lime wedge for sugar rim

Instructions

1. Pour the sugar onto a saucer and spread it all out.

2. Take a chunky wedge of lime and rub it over the rim of your cocktail glass, then dip the rim into the sugar granules, to create a sweet sugary edge around the top of the glass.

3. Save half a strawberry for the garnish, but put the rest of them in a blender with the crushed ice, lime juice, tequila, triple sec or orange liqueur . Whiz on a low speed for a few seconds, then turn it up and blend for another 30 seconds until the mixture is lovely and smooth.

Make it your way

Pour into your cocktail glass then stick a strawberry half on the edge as a fruity garnish.
