Fun in the sun!
It’s summer - time to let your hair down and have a bit of fun!
Check out our suggestions for great games to play outdoors.
These are both easy to play and you don’t need much to get started. Just don’t forget to come up with some fun forfeits!!
Slam!
Number of players? As many as you like - but 3 or 4 would be brilliant!
Who can play? Everyone – as long as they can run (or at least move around) a bit.
What’s needed? A football.
What’s the gist?
1. One person is made ‘it’ and they begin by slamming the football on the ground and someone else then kicks the ball.
2. ‘It’ then runs to retrieve the ball and slams it back down at the start. Meanwhile, everyone else has scattered to find hiding places and ‘it’ goes in search of them.
3. When they find someone, the race is on to see who can reach the football first and slam it down. If the hider is first, then he’s safe and the game continues. If not, he becomes ‘it’ and the game starts again!
Who wins? Anyone who slams the football down first.
Mexican Roller Coaster
Number of players? At least 4 or 5 but really, just as many as you like.
Who can play? Anyone brave enough to join the line and up for a bit of rough and tumble!
What’s needed? A bunch of energetic people!
What’s the gist?
1. Everyone stands in a line facing opposite directions clasping each other’s wrists.
2.. The person at the front of the line then sets off running as fast as they can in whatever direction they want - everyone else must hold one for dear life!
3. As you pick up speed the last person in the line will get the most action - half running, half flying through the air!
Who wins? Who needs a winner when you’re having this much fun?!
